During a recent visit to Rawson Saunders School in Texas, we were thrilled to see the results of the “rebranding process” in action! In a short 7 months, the school has been transformed. Dr. Rick Newberry led three workshops at the ACSI Administrator's Conference in California. Over 150 administrators from California schools attended this conference and had the opportunity to attend a variety of workshops. Carrollwood Day School, an independent school in Tampa, FL, has decided to partner with Cherry+Company for their brand identity development. Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, PA, will partner with Cherry+Company in the next few months in a comprehensive rebranding effort. Fusion Academy and Learning Center launches brand
In an effort to re-brand Fusion Academy and Learning as well as to prepare them for replication in other markets, Cherry developed the strategic brand identity, marketing materials and website for the school. Located in Solana Beach, CA (San Diego area), Fusion offers a uniquely customizable program in which every class has one teacher and one student. Through our branding process we created their new brand which includes a new logo and tagline–Because One-to-One Works. After the completion of a custom, two-day photo shoot, the brand was fully designed in a 16-page viewbook for the Academy, a Learning Center brochure, a new website (www.fusionacademyworks.com), banners and other supporting materials. Fusion is one of the many schools in the American Education Group’s network of unique, specialized private schools.
New website designs completed for five RenWeb partners
Cherry+Company has completed the website designs for the following five School Site customers: Lawton Christian School, Lawton, OK:; Wellington School, Seminole, FL; Pathways Academy, Danbury, CT; San Ramon Valley Christian Academy, Danville, CA; and Holy Family Catholic School, Austin, TX. Two of the schools chose template designs from Cherry+Company which blends a professional design and integration of RenWeb data with an affordable price. Three unique customized designs were created by Cherry+Company for three of the schools reflecting the distinctives of each school through flash photography, unique subpage banners, and custom navigation. All five schools are expected to launch their websites during 2009.
Saint Stephen's Episcopal School launches annual fund campaign
Saint Stephen's Episcopal School located in Bradenton, Florida, continues its partnership with Cherry+Company by building on the annual Saint's Fund brand created in 2008 to develop an enhanced annual fund campaign for 2009. The campaign includes a tri-fold postcard and email newsletter that drives parents, donors and friends of the school to their very own personalized website (PURL). By taking advantage of the latest technology, the individuals on the mailing list are directed to their own personalized web page that includes their name in their web address and other information that is specific to them. This PURL tracks the activity for each web page and directs the individual to the online giving page with the goal of making it easy to contribute to the annual fund. With the goal of 100% participation in the Saint's Fund, the staff is excited about the impact of this marketing effort.
The Community School of Naples partners with Cherry
In an effort to refine their brand message and develop a marketing and enrollment plan, the leadership of The Community School of Naples hired Cherry+Company. This project will include conducting interviews with the leadership, focus groups with representative constituent groups, and online surveys to current parents, alumni and employees. The result of this project will be a strategic marketing and enrollment plan as well as significant recommendations to move the school forward in its branding, messaging and future planning. The Community School enrolls 750 students in preK through 12th grade and is one of the premier independent schools in Florida.
Mount Pisgah Christian School's new website design launched
Mount Pisgah Christian School, a RenWeb School Site customer, worked with Cherry+Company to design a new website that includes a flash presentation on the homepage featuring the school's beautiful photography as well as included a new logo treatment and incorporation of the school's tagline. Seven unique subpages were also designed for each of their main navigational areas. This custom website design has become the foundation for the school's brand marketing as Cherry+Company has created an ad campaign and a 16-page viewbook used in the admissions effort. Baptist Bible College (PA) selects Cherry to conduct extensive market research
The leadership of Baptist Bible College (BBC) has selected Cherry+Company to conduct an extensive market research and brand investigation project. The market research will include online surveys, focus groups and telephone interviews with key constituent groups and prospective students. The goal of the project will be to better understand the perspectives and attitudes towards the BBC experience, brand and programs, in an effort to position the College for the future as well as to attract additional students. BBC is located in Clarks Summit, PA, and enrolls nearly 1,000 students in its undergraduate, graduate and seminary programs.
Direct mail and advertising campaign launched for The Out-of-Door Academy
The Out-of-Door Academy, a cum laude school of over 600 students located in Sarasota, has worked with Cherry+Company to design and launch a comprehensive direct mail and advertising campaign. Using the theme of "OutThink, OutPerform, and OutShine," a series of ads were developed that will appear in the local media outlets including SRQ and Sarasota Magazine. The direct mail campaign includes multiple touches of three separate postcard drops supported with a personalized URL (PURL) component of interactive and personalized web pages. Every name on the acquisition mailing list will have a unique PURL which is prominently incorporated into the design and layout of the postcards and the informational letter. The prospective parent is attracted to the school through the intriguing web address and is directed to their own personalized web page. Once someone points to their PURL, all the activity and interaction is recorded behind the scenes and is available to your team in real time 24/7.
Miss Hall's School (MA) partners with Cherry for marketing and enrollment strategy
Miss Hall's School, one of the oldest all-girl's boarding schools in the nation, selected Cherry+Company to evaluate and provide recommendations for its current enrollment and marketing strategy. The admissions team spent two days in consultation with Dr. Newberry. After the visit, priority recommendations were provided in a final report for the admissions team to consider for implementation. The American Education Group (AEG) held a special series of meetings with their partner schools in Tampa, Florida. Liz Cherry and Dr. Rick Newberry were invited to present a workshop on “Best Practices in Customer Service Strategies” for their schools. Currently, AEG works with six innovative and specialized schools throughout the country. Through their strategic plan, AEG seeks to acquire, grow and replicate leading private school models in the PK-12 space that have compelling and specialized niches and offer superior, custom programming and preparation for higher education.
Marketing and enrollment plan completed for The First Academy
The First Academy, a leading Christian college preparatory school in Orlando, FL, worked with Cherry+Company to develop a strategic marketing and enrollment plan. After a thorough review and assessment of the marketing and enrollment effort, interviews were conducted with the school leadership to probe deeper into the processes, strategies and results of the current effort. Based on this assessment, a comprehensive marketing and enrollment plan was presented to the school’s leadership for implementation.
Fusion Academy selects Cherry for brand development
As an American Education Group (AEG) school partner, Cherry+Company was selected to create an enhanced visual brand identity for the school. The goal for this re-branding effort is to position the school for greater brand awareness not only in its local community but to also provide a visual brand that can be replicated in other locations throughout California and the nation. The Fusion Academy is located in Solano Beach, CA, and provides an individualized and customized program for students in the greater San Diego area for students with unique emotional, behavioral, academic and scheduling challenges.
Strategic Marketing and Enrollment Workshop a success
Cherry+Company sponsored its first strategic marketing and enrollment workshop November 5-7, 2008. Several schools sent their marketing and enrollment leaders to the Doubletree Resort on N. Redington Beach for an intensive, collaborative and focused time to develop their own strategic plan. Workshop participants found the two-day sessions jam-packed with "real world" strategies for their marketing and enrollment plans. The Out-of-Door Academy
The Out-of-Door Academy, located in Sarasota, FL, is one of the
oldest independent day schools in the state. With 600 students on
two campuses, ODA provides a college preparatory education that
is complimented with a focus on the social, emotional, moral and
physical growth of its students. Cherry and Company will work closely
with the school leadership during the next two months to conduct
an assessment of its marketing messages and strategies. This assessment
includes an extensive review of their materials and strategies,
interviews with school personnel and in-depth focus groups with
parents. As a result of the assessment, a comprehensive marketing
strategy will be developed for the school. The goal is to develop
a marketing plan to better reach the constituents and community
that ODA serves.
High Point Christian Academy partners
Located in High Point, North Carolina, Cherry will partner with
the school leadership to develop a strategic enrollment and marketing
plan for the school. In its brief 12 years, High Point Christian
has exploded in its enrollment with over 700 students. Now, as school
leadership looks toward the future, they realize the importance
of developing a plan to take them to the next level. After the marketing
plan is created, the goal is to begin developing an outstanding
suite of marketing materials that will promote the school with excellence
in the community it serves.
North Florida Christian utilizes the
CherrySmart Parent Perception Survey
North Florida Christian School, with an enrollment of nearly 1,200
students, will utilize the CherrySmart Parent Perception Survey
in February. This online survey measures the overall attitudes and
perceptions of the parents towards the school. This easy-to-use
survey provides an online format with just over 30 quantitative
and qualitative questions. The results will be provided in a comprehensive
report for the leadership to understand the school’s strengths
and areas that need improvement.
North Florida Christian School recently partnered with Cherry to
design a comprehensive suite of marketing materials for their enrollment
effort. These materials included a pocket folder, admissions brochure,
curriculum guide, tuition and fees flier and direct mail campaign.

Cherry recently completed the design of a pocket folder and 12-page
admissions brochure for Oak Hall School. In an effort to increase
the brand awareness and interest for the school, Cherry designed
three oversized postcards to communicate the Oak Hall experience
to the greater Gainesville community. The postcards will be sent
to a targeted mailing list in three-week intervals.

Bayshore Christian School, located on Tampa, FL, selected Cherry
to design the homepage and sub-page for their school’s website.
In addition, Cherry will conduct a one-day custom photo shoot to
capture the images needed for the website design. The school leadership

Schools wins state award
The Sunshine State School Public Relations Association named the 2007-08
Pinellas County School Choice Information Guide best in the state
of Florida. Cherry and Company worked directly with the communications
department to create the concept and design for the guide. The guide
won in the large district category of the 2007 Sunshine Medallion
Awards competition. Cherry also recently rebranded Pinellas County
Schools by designing a new logo, tagline and other key marketing materials.

As a school with 200 students on Islamorada in the Florida Keys, Island
Christian School is committed to communicate the image of its outstanding
school with excellence. After connecting with Liz Cherry and Rick

with $16 million campaign
During the past year, Evangelical Christian School partnered with
Cherry and Company to develop a new logo, tagline and admissions marketing
materials. In addition, Dr. Rick Newberry conducted a comprehensive
marketing and enrollment assessment and developed a strategic marketing
plan for the school. As the next step in this partnership, Cherry
was hired to create a theme, logo and brochure for their $16 million
dollar capital campaign. With the theme, “Everyone Plays a Part,”
ECS will raise funds for a state-of-the art performing arts center
that will benefit their student enrollment of 1,300 students. John
Hunte, headmaster of ECS, recently said that Cherry “exceeded
our expectations” and designed another outstanding brochure

Shorecrest Preparatory School moves
forward with materials for $34 million capital campaign
In its largest capital campaign, Shorecrest Preparatory School
is moving forward with a campaign for state-of-the-art new facilities
and endowment. Shorecrest’s new Director of Advancement,
Gary Butts, continues the partnership with Cherry and Company
for this campaign. A case statement to showcase the needs of Phase
I of the campaign and presentation pocket folder will be designed.
The first phase will include two new buildings for the upper school
and 7th and 8th grade.

North Florida Christian School hires
Cherry for marketing assessment and plan development
As a result of hearing six presentations at the FACCS Administrator’s
Conference, Dr. Rick Fielding hired Cherry and Company to conduct
a comprehensive marketing assessment and to develop a marketing
plan for North Florida Christian School. This effort will include
an extensive review of their current marketing and enrollment
strategy and will result in a customized marketing plan to help
the school reach their goals. Cherry and Company is also in the
final stages of completing the schools admissions marketing materials
including a pocket folder, 12-page brochure, tuition and fees
flier, curriculum guide and application.

With their largest attendance ever at a FACCS Administrator’s
Conference, Liz Cherry and Rick Newberry presented six sessions
on marketing, recruitment and retention. FACCS is the Florida
Association of Christian Colleges and Schools and has nearly 200
schools in its membership. The overall goal of the conference
was to help administrators “Get S.M.A.R.T.”—Strategic
Marketing and Recruitment Tactics. The following sessions were

Marketing assessment and strategy
completed for Naples Christian Academy
Naples Christian Academy is the oldest independent school in the
Naples area. With 220 students, Scott Jones, head of school, recognized
the need to develop an enrollment and marketing strategy. Cherry
conducted an extensive review of their current enrollment process
and marketing strategy as well as obtained critical information
through the use of Cherry’s parent satisfaction survey.
Based on this assessment, specific marketing recommendations were
presented to the Academy leadership.
North Florida Christian School selects
Cherry to develop brand
As one of the leading Christian schools in the state of Florida,
North Florida Christian realizes the importance of portraying
an image in its marketing materials that represents the quality
of the school. Dr. Rick Fielding, Administrator, was first introduced
to Cherry and Company at the FACCS conference in October through
one of the seminar sessions led by Dr. Rick Newberry. After seeing
Cherry's work with other schools, he decided that this was a critical
step for North Florida Christian to take in its marketing effort.
Utilizing the school's current logo, Cherry will develop a visual
brand identity in new materials focused on the admissions effort.
North Florida Christian School is located in Tallahassee, Florida,
and enrolls 1,140 students.
Oak Hall School moves forward with
admissions marketing materials
After completing an extensive marketing assessment and providing
a recommended strategy for Oak Hall School's enrollment plan,
Cherry will create the design of new admissions materials including
a pocket folder and an admissions brochure. Cherry will utilize
the current school logo to create two to three concept directions
for these materials. Once the brand direction has been selected
by the Oak Hall leadership, a custom photo shoot will take place
on campus to capture the visual images needed to showcase the
school in the new materials. Oak Hall School is located in Gainesville,
Florida, and is a member of the Florida Council of Independent

conference on February 15-16, 2007, in Orlando. Through this conference,

Wellington Christian School selects
Cherry to create new logo, brand and marketing materials
After serving 21 years at a school in Pennsylvania, Mr. Joe Austin
took on the leadership role as Head of School for Wellington Christian
School over a year ago. Through his "hands-on" approach
and personal style of leadership, the students and parents are
thrilled with his leadership and new direction for the school.
As part of this new direction, Cherry was hired to create a new
logo, tagline, and brand identity for the school. This will be
further developed in new marketing materials that will include
a letterhead package, pocket folder, admissions brochure, application,
and direct mail postcards. Wellington Christian School is located
near West Palm Beach, FL.
Shorecrest Preparatory School chooses
Cherry for extensive marketing research and strategy development
As a result of an extensive strategic planning process, the Shorecrest
leadership decided to make the development of a marketing plan
one of their priorities. After conducting an extensive search,
Cherry and Company was chosen to put together a plan to answer
two primary questions:
Who is Shorecrest Preparatory School to the community and constituency
How should the re-defined Shorecrest brand be communicated?
In order to answer these questions, Cherry has created a customized
research, assessment, creative and planning process. This process
is outlined in the following three phases. Beginning with Phase
I, Cherry will conduct a brand investigation and market research
that includes online surveys with Shorecrest's constituent groups
and a telephonic survey in Pinellas County to measure awareness
of the school. Drawing from this research, Cherry will develop
key differentiators and an umbrella tagline in Phase II. As part
of Phase III, a final report will be presented that will include
the interpretation of the research and assessment as well as the
recommended marketing strategy for Shorecrest Preparatory School.
Shorecrest is recognized as the oldest, independent day school
in Florida, enrolling nearly 1,000 students in St. Petersburg.
Orangewood Christian School launches
capital campaign - The Right Time. The Right Plan.
On September 11, Orangewood Christian School announced a major
capital campaign to build a new high school facility. Cherry and
Company was selected to build upon the award-winning brand identity
and admissions materials developed last year by creating a theme,
brochure, and communication's package for the campaign. The brochure
draws upon the excitement and energy of the school by communicating
a compelling case to potential donors to invest in this vital
project. Students were photographed in construction hard-hats
in a custom photo shoot to provide the visual images for the brochure.

For the third year, Cherry and Company has been selected to develop
the annual fund materials for Shorecrest Preparatory School in St.
Petersburg. Last year's brochure received national recognition by
receiving a Gold Award from the CASE / NAIS Circle of Excellence
Awards by focusing on students. This year's campaign will focus
on six alumni who are making a difference because of the education
they received at Shorecrest. The campaign includes on-campus billboards,
letterhead package, and a multi-panel brochure. Rob Resler, director
of advancement, expects to exceed last year's record levels of giving
and participation with this new campaign.
Oak Hall School selects Cherry for
enrollment and marketing strategy development
Oak Hall School, an independent FCIS school in Gainesville, FL,
selected Cherry and Company to assess their enrollment process and
develop a marketing strategy. This consultation is divided in three
phases that begins with an extensive review of the current enrollment
and marketing processes and strategies. This is followed in phase
two with a comprehensive on-site assessment with critical meetings
with the school leadership, admissions director, and marketing team.

and a marketing strategy to enhance the enrollment and image of

New annual fund campaign a success for Shorecrest Preparatory School
This years annual fund campaign for Shorecrest took a different
and innovative approach.
With a new head of school, Michael Murphy, taking over in July,
he gave the students a
summer assignment asking them "What makes Shorecrest special
to you?" With more than
400 responses, Cherry and Company used student artwork and quotes
to develop the Annual Fund campaign. This unique approach has helped
Shorecrest to meet 80% of their goal within the first month of their
campaign. In addition the advancement department has received rave
reviews from parents.
St. Petersburg Christian and Boca Christian Schools select Cherry
